SOUTH BROOKLYN GREENWAY
Route by Bike South Brooklyn x @BKbyBike
This waterfront route is a great add-on to the North Brooklyn Waterfront route. Starting from the Red Hook Ferry Terminal, make your way through the Red Hook and experience the best "small town vibes" that Brooklyn has to offer. We love Red Hook Winery and Steve's Key Lime Pies down at Louis Valentino, Jr. Park and Pier; and there's kayaking and paddle boarding! Make your way through Gowanus down to Sunset Park where you will find Bush Terminal Park and Industry City. Continue south to find serenity at Owl's Head Park at the top of Bay Ridge, leading down to the beautiful and car-free Brooklyn Waterfront Greenway with picturesque views of the Verrazzano Bridge. Venture off the route for delicious treats! A detour down Bay Ridge's Third Avenue will take you to an array of buzzy eateries featuring a wide variety of cuisines, including Greek, Palestinian, Georgian (!), pizza and every variety of sports bar. If you like a hidden gems, stop by neighborhood newcomer Ayat. If you're feeling adventurous, keep going all the way to Coney Island for rides, ice cream, brews and views. And if you're really looking to cover some miles, keep riding all the way to our Jamaica Bay Loop!
