HARBOR RING NORTH
STATEN ISLAND TO BAYONNE, NJ
HARBOR RING NORTH
Route by Harbor Ring
The Bayonne Bridge is one of the Tri-state’s most recent wins in the fight for equal access for bikes and pedestrians to the area’s bridges. With its new and improved bike and pedestrian lane, it offers magnificent views of the harbor and connects Jersey to Staten Island. This route is part of the Harbor Ring’s 60-mile route along the harbor. It’s full of beautiful green spaces, museums, and gardens from Snug Harbor as well as New York treasures: Denino’s Pizza and the Original Ralph’s Italian Ices location. In New Jersey, the route brings riders past the adorable Starfish and Chips Shack, and the equally cute (and nostalgic) Magic Fountain Ice Cream. The terminus of this adventure is at Liberty State Park, a beautiful and expansive park with amazing harbor views.
Harbor Ring advocates for a 60-mile recreational route circling New York Harbor that unites Staten Island, Brooklyn, and Manhattan in New York with Fort Lee, Jersey City, Hoboken, and Bayonne in New Jersey, including a bicycle and pedestrian pathway over the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge.
